what am i doing wrong? (bind mod)
« on: August 07, 2008, 08:37:44 am »

Hello,

i'm a new user to anim8or and was working with the beginner tutorials and tried to make a flower.

My main problem now is, that i'm not able to use the modifier in a way it should work, cause only the modifier does what i want it to do, but not the mesh bond to it.

I recorded a small (5mb) vid, how i use the modifier and the steps i'm doing.

It's available here: http://www.palazzo-mondo.de/files/bind_mod.avi

Could somebody tell me pls what i'm doing wrong and how i'm able to use it?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello,

@neirao: Thanks a lot, that was my fault and i didnt noticed it :D, cause i used always the predefined views (front, left etc.) and didnt turn the view to see if the modifier is above the mesh :D, i thought the modifier will "warp" to the mesh automatically, when i click "Bind Modifier".

@mp3d: the tutorials didnt give me the answer to my question :D, i did some of em so far (flower, tires, bowl) and they are really great and helpful to learn the use of anim8or.
I was doing the tutorials when i got that problem :).

Btw., thanks to Steven Glanville for such a great program! I'm still wondering how it's possible that it's less than 2 MB :D.
I guess that's what someone can call a very clean and proper coding.

Cheers

Exactly my point of view. There is no point in buying a powerfull computer and then stuff it with bloated software ;D

I was doing the tutorials when i got that problem Smiley.

In the video tutorial on the warp modifier, I specifically tell the viewer to make sure the object is in the warp modifier. I also show the viewer that the modifier can be moved and scaled. Could you explain what part you had trouble on so I can make sure my tutorial is not miss leading/ confusing so no one else runs into this problem.

Thanks.
